Run-off election has slow turnout so far

The March Primary yielded run-off elections that are taking place now until May 20 in early voting. Only four voters turned out on Monday. Ballots can be cast from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Atascosa County Annex II Building, 914 Main Street, Jourdanton.

Election day will be next Tuesday, May 24. Polls, which have been consolidated, will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.

On the Democratic Party ballot is the run-off between Cody Garrett and Grady Yarbrough for Railroad Commissioner.

The run-off for Railroad Commissioner for the Republican Party is between Gary Gates and Wayne Christian. Also on the ballot are Mary Lou Keel and Ray Wheless for Judge, Court of Criminal Appeals, Place 2 and Brent Webster and Scott Walker, Judge, Court of Criminal Appeals, Place 5.
