Ruben Flores Sr., of Poteet, passed away Sunday September 6, 2020, at the age of 64. He was born on January 1, 1956, to George Flores, Jr. and Viviana (Gutierrez) Flores.

Ruben is survived by his wife, Sylvia Rodriguez Flores; mother, Viviana Flores; son, Ruben Flores, Jr. and wife Edna; daughter, Christina Flores and husband Alex (Donaldo); brothers, Robert Flores and wife Margie; George Flores III and wife Rosa; Roy Flores and wife Martha; sisters; Susie Bermudez and husband Raul; Sandra Robles and husband Mario; grandchildren: Arthur Flores, Kendrick Flores, Madelyn Flores, Arelley Flores, Analiah Flores, Jovanni Flores, Hope Flores, Sofe Flores and Luna Flores; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruben is preceded in death by his father George Flores Jr.; sisters; Sylvia Rivas and Shirley Flores; son; Arthur Flores; niece; Valerie Flores and aunt, Inez Flores.

Ruben started work at Palo Alto College (PAC), October 16, 2004, as a Plumber Apprentice. In 2016, he earned his Journeyman License. His job title then became Plumber Journeyman. This title came with numerous skills including; maintenance of commodes, water heaters, water fountains, natural gas heaters., irrigation sprinklers, clean drains, among other plumbing duties. He was a Licensed Plumber and Licensed as a Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester from the State of Texas. He accomplished so much in the 16 years at PAC. He would have said his greatest accomplishments were the respect he gained for being a leader, a role model, to so many. We will miss a great son, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Love you always, your family.
