The Ropin’ at the River BBQ cook off will start on Friday, May 7. You can enter under three categories: brisket, pork spareribs and chicken halves. The grand champion will have the highest pay out of $1,000, and the reserve grand champion will receive a $500 payout. First place for each category will receive $300, second place for each category will receive $200 and third place for each category will receive $100. In addition to the payouts, buckles will be given to the grand champion, reserve grand champion and first place in each category. The buckles are sponsored by Sureco Metal Building Construction.
Preregistration is available and preferred. You can register by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Entry is $150. There will also be onsite registration available.
The BBQ cook off judging will take place from 12 p.m.-3 p.m.on Saturday, May 8. The awards will be given from 4-4:45 p.m.
