ROGER CASTILLO


 

 

Roger Y. Castillo Sr., 66, of Pleasanton, passed away on February 16, 2021, in San Antonio. He was born on August 23, 1954, in Pleasanton, to Louis Castillo Sr. and Alice Ybañez Castillo.

Roger was a graduate of Pleasanton High School, a former mechanic for Atascosa Auto Parts in both Poteet and Pleasanton, and most recently he worked for Salinas Construction. He loved to work on classic cars as well as going to drag races on the weekend and racing in general. He was a sports lover always rooting for the Dallas Cowboys, Longhorns, Spurs and Texas high school football teams. Roger loved food and would look for ways to get you into bringing him or helping him with something, but he really enjoyed a good ribeye. Roger will be remembered as a great father and grandfather that would jump at any chance to spend time with his kids and grandchildren.

Roger is preceded in death by his father, Louis Castillo, Sr.; sister, Sylvia Villalobos; and stepfather, Jesse Camarillo.

He is survived by his mother, Alice Castillo; stepmother, Patsy Castillo, son, Roger Castillo Jr. and his wife Connie; daughters, Martha Castillo and her husband Roy Flores, and Marissa Shay Bruno and her husband Paul; brothers, Louis Castillo Jr. and his wife Sylvia Garcia, Arnold Castillo and his wife Alicia, and Eddie Castillo and his wife Margo; sister, Becky Lopez and her husband James; brother-in-law, Thomas Villalobos; grandchildren, Isaiah, Joel, Asia, Jayden, Vincent, AriLynn, Adalyn and Madison; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church on Friday, February 26, from 10-11 a.m. with the reciting of the rosary at 11 a.m. Mass will immediately follow at 11:30 a.m. under the direction of St. Andrew Catholic Church and Hurley Funeral Home.
