The Tilden Lion Club’s 65th annual rodeo will be presented this Friday and Saturday, September 11 and 12 at the Tilden Lions Club Arena at 8 p.m. nightly.
The rodeo, produced by Lester Meir Rodeo Company, will also include calf scramble, mutton bustin’ and a County Team Roping on Thursday, September 10. The Tilden Baptist Church will be sponsoring the favorite and free mechanical bull rides from 5-10 p.m. nightly. There will be a chuckwagon and blacksmith demonstrations. A petting zoo will be there on Saturday. Ice chests are encouraged to bring on site, too.
There will be a dance on Saturday night at 9 p.m.- 1 a.m. With Bobby Marquez. Admission is only $10 for adults and kids, 4-12 are only $5.
The 2014 CMA of Texas Independent Artist of the Year is headed back to his home state of Texas. Marquez is set to perform on stage, radio and television in San Antonio before heading down to the annual Tilden rodeo the weekend of September 11th and 12th.
Originally from Freer, Texas, Bobby Marquez has risen to international fame the past few years with Texas and Music Row Chart hits, a top selling album in Europe and award nominations in Australia. In Nashville, his songwriting has turned a few heads as well. His songs have been recorded by George Strait, Alan Jackson, Ty Herndon and Tim McGraw.
Bobby Marquez always has a smile and a great honky-tonk song. He will be a guest on KSAT12’s SA Live on Friday, September 11, too. Bobby will be back in Texas in November for the Floresville Opry and the kickoff of hunters weekend in Bandera at 11th Street Cowboy Bar.
