Tilden Lions Club Rodeo

Head on down south to Tilden this weekend September 5 and 6 for the Tilden Lions Club Rodeo. A county team roping event will take place Thursday, September 4, books open at 6:30 pm, the roping is at 7 pm. The rodeo will be held at the Tilden Lions Club Arena at 8 p.m. both nights. Adults $10 and children 4-12 $5. Friday night the Isaac Jacobs Band will perform and Saturday Scott Wiggins and Wes Nickson will perform. A mechanical bull will be available from 5 pm to 10 pm nightly for free rides sponsored by Tilden Baptist Church. Family activities include a chuck wagon, blacksmith, and a petting zoo Saturday only. All skate boarders and parents are invited to attend a skateboard event Saturday, September 6 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Following the event will be a BBQ from 4:30 pm to 8 pm. The event will be held at the City Park Pavilion # 2 and the event is free. Homecoming Queen

Don’t forget to vote for your next Cowboy Homecoming Queen September 5 and 6. Cast your votes at the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce Log Cabin. You must be a resident of Pleasanton or in the school district to vote. Jourdanton Little League

Jourdanton Little League will hold a General Membership meeting on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at the sheriff’s office courtroom at 1108 Campbell in Jourdanton. The purpose of the meeting will be to elect a Board of Directors for 2014-2015. Anyone who resides in the Jourdanton ISD and has a general interest in Little League Baseball and Softball may attend and become a General Member by paying $1 dues. Jourdanton Little League must elect a 15 member Board of Directors to manage the league for the upcoming season. Without a Board of Directors, there cannot be a Little League program. Jourdanton Little League normally serves over 300 children from our community and provides the opportunity for kids age 4 to 14, to play organized baseball and softball. This will be the league’s 58th year of existence. Please consider being one of the one million volunteers worldwide that help make Little League so successful.
