Robert Elton Foster, 85, of Pleasanton passed away October 5, 2017. He was born July 10, 1932 outside of Jourdanton, Texas on the family farm, to Ollie and Ralph Foster. He went to school in Jourdanton and afterwards joined the Navy. Robert then went to work for United Gas until an early retirement from Entex to take care of his parents. He then started his own business at that time while helping his brother Horace with working the farm and cattle operation. He drove every day to the farm until his health disabled him. His wife Patty continued taking Bob to the farm to check on the cattle and did so until the task was too much for her and him both.
Robert is survived by his wife Patty, children Miles Foster and wife Lupe of Poteet, Sandra Porter and husband Trey of Leming, Eric Foster and wife Christy of Pleasanton, Lee Foster and wife Marty of Castroville.
Grandchildren Paul, Bryce, Erin, Randall, Phillip, Ashley, Bryan, Allyson, and Kyle. Great-grandchildren Carson, Blake, Hunter, Mason, Ashley, Layla, Allyson, Milee, Wyatt, Lanie, Dante, Kati and Royce.
Visitation was conducted at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton on Monday, October 9, 2017 from 4 – 8 p.m. Funeral services were also held at Hurley Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 10 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Pleasanton City Cemetery.
Pallbearers for Robert’s service will be Paul Wilkins, Randall Foster, Ashley Castro, Gilbert Castro, Phillip Foster and Bryan Foster. Honorary pallbearers will be Bryce Wilkins and Robert Foster.
