Reulo Cruz Sr.

Reulo Cruz, Sr., born on March 18, 1922 in Poteet, and went to be with the Lord on March 8, 2018 at the age of 95 in Leming.

During his lifetime, Reulo served his country in the United States Army, was devoted to his agriculture work, which he did for a lot of years and enjoyed working the fields which included many years of farming for Jerome Korus in Leming.  He also worked at a dairy farm in Jourdanton.  Reulo, then opened his own business, Cruz Drive Inn Bar on 281 and worked that until his retirement.  He was then known to pass time by selling fruit from his vegetable stand from his home in Leming until late 2017. Reulo was preceded in death by his parents Juan and San Juana Cruz, his wife Juanita S. Cruz of 77 years, his sons Rudy, Reulo Jr. and Gilbert Cruz.  He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter Christina C. Hernandez, his brothers Roy, Reyes, Ramon, Margarito, and Ricardo Cruz and sisters Librada Cruz Mendez and Juanita Cruz Flores.

He is survived by his daughters Elvia C. Coronado, Gloria C. Martinez, both from Houston, Florinda C. Mercado ad Mike Mercado from Kirby, and Irene C. Guerra and Nick Guerra from SanAntonio and son Julio Cruz from Leming.

In addition to his immediate family, Reulo is survived by 21 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  He will be missed deeply by his entire family as well as numerous friends of the community.

Visitations will be from 3 -7 p.m. followed with the rosary on Thursday, March 15 at the Delgado Funeral Home located at 319 W. Mitchell Street in San Antonio, Texas 78204.  Funeral departure will be on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. from Delgado Funeral Home and Mass will be held at St. Luke’s Catholic Church at 10 a.m. and is located at 3930 FM 536 in Leming, Texas 78050 on the 16th of March followed with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery in Leming.
