Atascosa County Democrats will have a booth set up at the parking lot of El Castillo Restaurant in Pleasanton at 301 N. Main, Pleasanton on August 1, 6-8:00 pm. All health precautions, including separate tables for voter registration forms and masks worn all around, will be taken.
If you don’t know if you are registered in the county, please visit www.votetexas. gov to check. Please remember that in Texas, online signatures are not valid so checking the box to register to vote when you renew your license online does not mean you are registered.
The forms are very simple to fill out and you can sit and fill them out at the table. In case, you have questions there will be a person on hand to help answer. You may also take the form home to complete, then drop it in the mail, postage paid or take them to the Atascosa County Elections office in Jourdanton, 914 Main St., #115. The organizers of the voter registration event will gladly turn the forms in at the County Elections Office for you. Filling out the form will take just a few minutes to complete You should receive a voter registration card in the mail in a few weeks.
All citizens 18 years and older are eligible and those young people who will be 18 on Nov. 3 are also eligible. We will also have mail in application for ballots available for those who are eligible.
The Atascosa County Democrats look forward to seeing you on Saturday. Please bring anyone in your family who needs mail-in applications or who will be eighteen years old by Nov. 3. Registering and voting ensures that all our voices in Atascosa County are heard on election day. If you have questions, please contact Julie Hilberg
