Jay was a former resident of Poteet, Robstown, Laredo and Arlington, where his work took him. Jay was a Water Source Specialist. He was a faithful member of St. Peter Prince – The Apostle Church in Calallen where he was a Third-Degree Knight of Columbus. Jay was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

Preceding him in death are his parents: Refugio P. Rodriguez, Sr. and Tomasa Yanez Rodriguez.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Gracie M. Rodriguez of Corpus Christi; daughters, Stella Rodriguez Arciniega (David) of Corpus Christi and Sara Martinez- Williams (Bryan) of Corpus Christi; granddaughter, Sophia Grace Arciniega; brother, Reynaldo Rodriguez (Christina) of San Antonio; sisters, Rosa R. Uribe of Poteet, Rachel Rodriguez of San Antonio, Rebecca Silvas of Schertz and Rita Davis (Trevor) of San Antonio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jay gave us strength in time of trouble, wisdom in time of uncertainty and sharing in time of happiness; he will always be in our hearts. Love is not an easy feeling to put into words, nor is loyalty, trust or joy, but he was all of these; he loved his family completely and lived life intensively. The other two loves of his life were golf and the Dallas Cowboys. Jay’s love was unselfish and involved sacrifice, respect, support and giving. He completed his purpose in life and our Lord decided it was time for him to go home. You will live in our hearts, until we meet again. Love all of your family.

Services were on Saturday, September 12, at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton.

Refugio “Jay” Rodriguez Jr., my dear friend and golfing buddy, the Lord has called you home and your suffering is no more.
You fought the good fight and left it all on the table, just like everything else you did in life, you gave it your best.
The way you shared your gift of Love, Kindness, Friendship and Giving to everyone who knew you, was truly remarkable.
A wonderful family man that gave so much love to those who were close to him. All the respect in the world to you my friend.
I could have never imagined you would’ve touched my heart in so many ways. It was a blessing to be your friend and golfing buddy. I loved you like a brother I never had.

You will be truly missed, but the wonderful memories we shared together will live on forever in my mind and in my heart.
    Rest In Peace, my friend.
