‘Ready to Work’ Collaborative Career Fair on October 4


The City of Pleasanton will host the “Ready to Work” Collaborative Career Fair in partnership with Coastal Bend College and Workforce Solutions Alamo, on Oct. 4, at the Pleasanton Civic Center. Agency registration deadline is Sept. 27.

The career fair will include several local, state, and federal government agencies, private sector companies, and several departments from Coastal Bend College.

“The City of Pleasanton is excited about this collaborative effort with Coastal Bend College and Workforce Solutions Alamo,” says Pleasanton City Manager Johnny Huizar. “The mayor and city council are committed to assisting our residents seek quality employment opportunities,” adds Huizar.

The city’s consulting firm, EMC Strategy Group, has been coordinating efforts with Dean Julian Garcia and Benito Tamez of Coastal Bend College and Vanessa Villa of Workforce Solutions Alamo since late August.

“Our goal is to expose our regional residents to multiple career and employment opportunities and career development through Coastal Bend College,” says EMC Owner and Founder Janice Gonzalez.

Area residents are encouraged to participate in this free career fair and bring several copies of their updated resumes to present to potential employers.

The Pleasanton “Ready to Work” Collaborative Career Fair will include two sessions.

•High School Student Session (9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.) 11th & 12th grade students.

General Public Session (12 p.m. – 3 p.m.).
