PREPPING FOR RODEOS



16-year-old Adam Rice, son of Pleasanton Young Farmer Randy Rice and Shelley Rice is welding fence pipe to prepare the rodeo grounds for the PYF Cowboy of the Year Rodeo and Festival, August 16 & 17. A barbeque cook-off, chicken roping, washer tournament and of course, rodeos and dances are all slated for the two-day fest. The naming of the Cowboy of the Year and induction of the South Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame will happen on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. Gary P. Nunn will entertain on Friday and Steve Wariner will headline on Saturday with Bracken Hale Band opening. Tickets are available at Paisley’s Boutique, 307 2nd St. Pleasanton.
