The youth groups of the Atascosa First Seventhday Adventist Church in Poteet, the Atascosa Angels Pathfinders and the Atascosa Cherubs Adventurers, displayed their caring and sharing hearts Saturday, Dec. 15 and Sunday, Dec. 16. They unselfishly demonstrated Acts 20:35 -”It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
Saturday evening, the youth joined with others from the Philadelphia Seventh-day Adventist church in San Antonio by going around the neighborhoods in San Antonio singing Christmas carols and enjoying their time spreading love and cheer to others.
The next day youth wrapped gifts to hand out at the apartment complexes in Poteet to children that might need something to give them a smile this holiday season and know that someone cares about them. Then they loaded onto a hay covered flat bed and headed to residential areas in Pleasanton to sing Christmas carols to the residents and to collect monies for Texas Adventist Community Service and also the Adventist Disaster Relief Agency which helps people not only locally and statewide, but also world wide. They are thankful for the donations that many gave to help others.
If you are interested in having your children participate in one of these youth groups that does many Christian based activities including camping, earning honor badges for crafts, learning Bible texts, singing at the Nursing Home and other community services, you may contact director Sandy Castillo at 210-535-2538 for more information.
