Poteet officer arrested for theft of firearms



A Poteet police officer has been arrested for the theft of firearms.

On Aug. 19, officers with the Poteet PD noticed two weapons were missing from the department’s property room. An internal investigation was conducted with the assistance of the Texas Rangers.

On Aug. 25, Officer Isaac Segura, 29, was arrested for the alleged theft of firearms and transported to the Atascosa County Jail.

Segura was sworn into office as a Poteet police officer on May 29, 2020.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety, the Poteet Police Department processed termination paperwork and all weapons have been recovered.

The investigation is still active and ongoing at this time.
