Poteet High School Class of 2020 Senior Sunrise

On October 8 at 7 a.m., Poteet’s senior class gathered at the football field to watch the sunrise.

As the graduating class of 2020, these students came together to have breakfast and enjoy what they called a Senior Sunrise.

This was a new tradition started by these seniors as a way to symbolize the beginning of their final year together.

Their class president, D’andra Calhoun, brought forward this idea to the senior class sponsor, Mr. Kennedy and together they were able to put this event on and get donations. They want to thank Randy Hunter from REC Industries for donating gift cards to purchase breakfast foods and drinks. Also, a big thank you to Irma’s Tacos and Head and Heals for donating some great local tacos. Everybody should stop by to try some of their delicious tacos.

This senior class will also put together a Senior Sunset for the Poteet Class of 2020. At the end of the year, they will eat dinner, and enjoy the sunset, as it symbolizes their final moments and the end of their years together.
