Greenhand camp is held every year for the first year students joining FFA.
This year on September 16, Poteet took seven 8th graders to Robstown at the RMB Regional Fairgrounds for the camp. The students were Brianna Garcia, Julia McDonald, Brady Stevens, Hayden McDonald, Dalton Wilson, Nathan Wilson, and Pete Rodriguez. These Poteet FFA Members went through various leadership activities with the Area X officers.
The Chaplain is Adely Lando; representing the Mesquite District and the Alice FFA Chapter. The Sentinel is Cassidi DeArmond; representing the Seis Rios District and the Three Rivers FFA Chapter. The Reporter is Alexandra Salinas; representing the Citrus Valley District and the Veterans Memorial FFA Chapter. The Treasurer is Megan Frerich; representing the Coastal Bend District and the Oden FFA Chapter. The Secretary is Karen Waters; representing the Tip-O-Tex District and the Los Fresnos FFA Chapter. The Vice President is Gunner Purcell; representing the Wintergarden District and the Eagle Pass FFA Chapter. The President is Beth Quintanilla; representing the Palm Valley District and the Edinburg North FFA Chapter. This whole officer team put on amazing sessions for the young FFA members as well as directed and organized the whole camp.
Poteet’s greenhands came back with lots of knowledge and passion for the FFA. Their leadership has prepared them for the year ahead.
