Positive ID made on homicide victim found this morning

Death appears to be a "gang hit" says Sheriff's Department

According to Chief Deputy David Soward, the homocide victim discovered earlier this morning has been positively identified through fingerprints. Investigators stated earlier that the body was found with no ID on it and that it had all the markings of a “Gang Hit”. The victim’s name is still being withheld pending notification of next kin. 

About 12:50 this morning a passerby discovered the body of a Hispanic male believed to be in his 30’s on Gatesvalley Road, east of TX Hwy 16 and four miles north of Poteet. Sheriffs’ investigators said the victim was shot at least one time with an undisclosed type of firearm. Sheriffs’ investigators and the Texas Rangers are investigating. An autopsy will be performed on the body this morning at the Bexar Co Medical Examiners Office.
