Pleasanton rising senior Aaron Perez isn’t done with baseball this summer.
Perez will participate in the Texas Select All-Star Showcase this Saturday at Wolff Municipal Stadium in San Antonio.
“It feels great to be offered a chance to play with a bunch of other great individuals,” Perez said. “I feel honored to be able to represent Pleasanton and the baseball program. I want to make sure I represent the program the best way I can.”
Perez was voted as District 30-4A Utility Player of the Year last season after splitting time as second baseman and pitcher.
He hit .266 with 13 RBIs this season. Perez had a .422 on-base percentage and scored 18 runs.
On the mound, Perez had a 2.66 ERA with 25 strikeouts in 29 innings.
The all-star game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
