Pleasanton Young Farmers’ Rodeo August 16-17Free Access


The Pleasanton Young Farmers annual Cowboy of the Year Open Rodeo and Festival is set for Aug. 16–17. The festivities will take place at the Atascosa County Showbarn Arena, 318 Showbarn Road in Pleasanton. It’s the richest open rodeo in Texas with $13,500 added money!

The Cowboy of the Year presentation will be Friday, Aug. 16 at 7:30 p.m. The rodeo will follow both nights, with entertainment afterwards.

Billy Mata and the Texas Tradition will perform Friday, Aug. 16. Admission on Friday will be $10 per person, kids age 6-12 will cost $5 and free admission for kids under 5-years-old.
Kyle Park will be the headliner Saturday night, Aug. 17. Admission on Saturday will be $15 per person, kids age 6-12 will be $5 and free admission for kids under 5-yearsold. John Christopher Way will open for Kyle Park on Saturday night.

BBQ cooks are encouraged to enter the BBQ Cook-Off on Aug. 16 and 17. Categories include brisket, pork spare ribs and chicken. There will also be a cook’s choice, dessert and jackpot beans contest.
