Pleasanton to host USDA Housing Assistance Workshop

The City of Pleasanton will hold a USDA Housing Assistance Program Workshop on May 13, 2019, at 10 – 11:30 a.m., at the Pleasanton Civic Center.

The workshop will feature four of the USDA’s Housing Assistance Program, which include: Home Ownership, Home Repair, Self Help Program, and Multi-Family Housing.

Nationally, the USDA Office of Rural Development has invested eight billion dollars and assisted over 55,000 families since 2009.

Guadalupe Valdes, who serves as the Area Director for the USDA Office of Rural Development headquartered in Seguin, will serve as the lead presenter for this workshop.

“We are grateful that Guadalupe Valdes has agreed to conduct this important workshop for our city residents,” says Pleasanton City Manager Johnny Huizar. “We know that there are dozens of families who may qualify for the USDA’s Housing Assistance Programs,” adds Huizar.

This workshop is open to any resident in Pleasanton or surrounding communities. Faith-based leaders are also strongly encouraged to participate in this workshop because they may personally connect congregation members to USDA programs.

The City of Pleasanton qualifies for several programs offered by the USDA because of the city’s population and rural community designation.
