Pleasanton shuts down football practices after positive coronavirus test

Pleasanton ISD has temporarily suspended their football practices after a member of the high school football program tested positive for the coronavirus.

Athletic Director Tab Dumont said, on Wednesday, practices will be shut down for the next 14 days. They are currently talking with local health officials, he added.

“Hopefully we can get back up and running soon,” Dumont said.

The Eagles are currently working out the logistics of their schedule. Their first game is scheduled for Aug. 28 at home against Hondo. With a 14-day hiatus, the tentative first day back at practice would be Aug. 26.

Pleasanton is also scheduled to play at Poteet on Sept. 4 and at home against Jourdanton on Sept. 11.
