The Pleasanton 7-on-7 team is making a return trip to College Station.

The Eagles qualified for the state tournament Saturday, posting a 4-0 record at McAllen.

Pleasanton also won the coin flip, which gave the Eagles the No. 1 seed from the state-qualifying tournament. Raymondville earned the other state berth in McAllen.

Pleasanton will compete in Division II of the state tournament, which includes schools in Class 4A and 3A-Division I.

The DII competition will be June 28 and 29 at Veterans Park and Athletic Complex in College Station.

Two of the Eagles’ new District 15-4A DI opponents—Gonzales and La Vernia—have also qualified for state.

Pleasanton went undefeated at the McAllen tournament despite being shorthanded. The Eagles suited up only 13 players.

Pleasanton played four consecutive games, with about 15 minutes of rest in between.

In pool play, the Eagles picked up wins against Raymondville (42-35), Hidalgo (46-12) and Ingleside (27-18).

Pleasanton wrapped up the tournament with a 52-34 win over La Feria.
