Pleasanton man found with funny money, drugs

Larry Leroy Twigg, 57 of Pleasanton, has been charged after Atascosa County Deputies and investigators foiled a counterfeit operation yesterday.

The suspect and a woman were found with a computer, printing apparatus, counterfeit money and a small amount of methamphetamines at a motel in Pleasanton.

Twigg had an outstanding warrant out after failing to appear for a theft charge in Frio County.

“This appears to be a major bust and excellent work by deputies,” Atascosa County Sheriff David Soward said.

Federal charges are pending after United States Secret Service agents responded once contacted by ACSO Chief Investigator Jake Guerra.

An ACSO deputy checked a business south of Pleasanton that received traffic by the counterfeit $20 bills, which tracked the couple to a motel.

Twigg is scheduled to be magistrated today, according to Soward.
