Pleasanton library to host salad luncheon in Civic Center

It’s a long time coming, but the Friends of the Pleasanton Public Library are holding their Annual Salad Luncheon and Silent Auction on Thursday, September 18. We are finally able to hold this in our very own Civic Center (thank you, Jourdanton Community Center, for your many years of support!) located right next door to the Library at 115 N. Main Street. Lunch will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and is $8 per plate, eat-in or take-out.

Friends are gathering up the generous donations for the Auction from businesses and individuals, including a Yeti cooler and a Consuela fashion purse! There will be plants galore, wooden art, glassware, tools, kitschy décor and so very much more.

And the salads—the main attraction! If you’ve never been to a salad luncheon, you might not know that it is not just a few pasta and green salads. Nope, there are lots of meats, veggie and even dessert salads. There will be a huge variety of very good food.

It’s still not too late to sign up if you want to donate to the auction or make a salad, or even work the kitchen. Please call either Kathleen at 830-569-5901 or Alma at 830-570-8540.

See you next Thursday!
