“We had a good start to the game. The girls moved the ball well offensively, working the hi/lo game. Our biggest obstacle was our lack of rotation on defense causing us to deal with major foul problems the entire game. Poteet did a great job getting to the basket and getting to the line. Over all I was happy with our execution on both ends of the floor,” stated Coach Brad Sekula.
The Pleasanton JV Lady Eagles fell to the Sam Houston JV Lady Canes 22-55. The Lady Eagles were not prepared for the aggressiveness the Lady Canes would be giving. The Lady Eagles started off on the wrong foot and were not able to regain focus.
Scoring-Yard- 8; Piedra- 5; Holoenbach- 4; Martinez-2; Robles- 2; Pacheco- 1.
“Sam Houston is the toughest opponent we have faced this season. They were aggressive and quick on defense. Most of our errors were caused by the pressure applied by the Lady Hurricanes. We were in the game in the first quarter but they started capitalizing on our mistakes and opened a 24 point lead going into the half. We made some halftime adjustments, and executed our offense a little better, but the damage could not be undone from the first half,” stated Coach Sekula.
