Pleasanton ISD commends school board members

Pleasanton Independent School District celebrates January as School Board Appreciation Month. We are very excited to honor and formally recognize our school board trustees here in Pleasanton and all school board members that are serving Texas Public Schools. They are an absolutely critical component to making sure our students and schools are successful. The future of our community, our state and our country is dependent on the success of our public schools. Our trustees are charged with the responsibility to establish the policies that provide the framework for our public schools. The Pleasanton ISD School Board is responsible for an annual budget of $36 million, 3,547 students, 543 employees, and four campuses.

“Our school board is singularly focused on providing an environment which inspires every student to think, to learn and to succeed. Their goal is the success of the children in Pleasanton ISD,” Superintendent

Matthew Mann said. “I want to thank our school board members as they are volunteers and they dedicate many hours to our students and staff.”

Board members that are serving Pleasanton ISD are:

• Frank A. Tudyk Jr., President, District 3, “I believe that education is one of the most important parts of a community and I want to play an active role in helping shape the community and the lives of its children.”

• Blasa Chapa, Vice President, District 1, “As a career educator I continue to dedicate my life to the betterment of our children to help them realize their potential and give them opportunity to fulfill their dreams.”

• Ralph Unger, District 5, “I would like to help the future graduates of Pleasanton ISD be prepared for whatever they choose as their next step in life. As a retiree from Pleasanton ISD, with 36 years in education, I believe that I bring a unique perspective to the Pleasanton school board.”
