The Pleasanton golf teams continued their district dominance with another pair of championships last week.
Both the Eagles and Lady Eagles won the 30-4A team titles at the district tournament in Floresville, extending streaks to five and six consecutive championships, respectively.
Pleasanton also had the individual champions in Blake Foster and Laken McAda.
Foster scored a 78 on both days to total 156 and win by eight over Poteet’s Hunter Carnes (164). Pleasanton’s Hunter Underbrink won a playoff for third place to advance to regionals as a medalist after shooting a 169.
McAda led a trio of Lady Eagles who took the top three individual spots. McAda held off the field after finishing at 167 following a 78 round on the first day. Lacey Stevens (174) and Meagan Mitchell (192) rounded out the top three.
Sarah Brendel shot a 202 to finish in fifth place, and Lexy Bartosh (223) placed ninth.
“I am very proud of the way everyone performed at the district tournament,” Pleasanton coach Michael Guerra said. “All of the players stepped their game up and made an impressive showing. We are looking forward to participating at the next level and representing our school and community with pride.”
The Lady Eagles won handily, totaling 735 over two days to win by 144 strokes over second-place Cuero.
