Pleasanton FFA travels to Kingsville for contest

On Monday, November 23 the Pleasanton FFA chapter attended the Area X LDE Contest at the Texas A&M Kingsville College, in Kingsville. These contests are designed to help students develop speaking and leadership skills, that they will need for the rest of their lives. The Jr. Chapter Conducting team placed 2nd in area, advancing to state, the team consisted of Skylar Schimelpfening, Hunter Rankin, Russell Caraway, Blaine MacManus, Octavio Diaz, Brianna White, and Ethan Zertuche. Jr. Quiz placed 11th in area consisting of Baylee Bauer, Gabi Diaz, Brianna White and Brentley Blalock. These teams were coached by Ag teacher, Page Jenschke.

Collin Cass placed 8th in area for Creed Speaking. The Public Relations team placed 7th in area consisting of Caitlin Korus, Macy Coble, Claire Roane and Cassidy Fernandez. The Ag Issues team placed 4th in area the team consisted of Brenda Leal, Laney Esquivel, Addy Llamas, Katriena Ables, Sarah Brendel, and Krislynn Taylor, and Alarik Myrin.

Those teams were coached by Ag teacher, Amanda Hargrove. Congratulations to all teams who made it to Area. That is an accomplishment in itself!

A big congratulations to Jr. Chapter Conducting for advancing to state! Way to go! They will be competing in Huntsville in early December. Look for results to come!
