On June 20th-22nd, the Pleasanton FFA chapter officers attended Area X leadership camp. This camp was located near Sandia at Camp Zephyr. Thanks to the summer staff at Camp Zephyr, this camp was very well organized and enjoyable for all of the campers.

Each day we were put through different sessions which were each an hour long. One of the many sessions objective was leadership. It involved an activity that required us to lead and help others which would help in bettering our leadership skills. The following sessions objective was about verbal and non-verbal communication. The activity within this session required us to use both of these types of communication and work diligently with one another in order to complete a task.

With the help from our Area X officers which taught these sessions, we all left camp with a better understanding of how to implement each of these skills within our chapter. We not only plan to encourage others to join our FFA chapter by setting good examples for them and acting as a leader at all times as we should, but we also plan to continue to improve our chapter in all ways possible. Using the skills we learned about and improved on while at leadership camp will help us accomplish these goals and benefit not only us, but our entire chapter.
