Pleasanton’s eighth grade football teams played their season opener on the road against Pearsall on Sept. 13.
The A-team lost 20-0. The offense was led by Michael Castillo, Sean Ramos, Adrian Flores and Terry Thompson. The defensive standouts were Jayce Krauskopf, Eric Flores, Ricky Alcorta and JD Guerra.
“The Eagles came out with great intensity and fought hard until the last buzzer,” said coach Stephen Barron.
The B-team beat Pearsall 12-0. Ecidro Hernandez led the offense with two rushing touchdowns, one of 15 yards and one of 12 yards.
“The offensive line did a phenomenal job all game long, allowing for great offensive production,” Barron said.
The defensive standouts were Ayden Parker, Isaac Romero and Bryndan Olle.
The eighth grade teams will play at home against Devine on Sept. 20.
