Pleasanton eighth grade football plays close with Cornerstone Christian

The Pleasanton eighth grade A team took a close loss 21-20 on the road on Tuesday against Cornerstone Christian in San Antonio.

“The Eagles came out and played stellar defense throughout the game and made the Warriors work for every yard and point,” Pleasanton coach Stephen Barron said.

Sean Ramos threw a three-yard touchdown pass to Max Sauceda and another touchdown pass of 40 yards to Diego Luna. Bryndan Olle returned a kickoff 60 yards for a touchdown. Jayce Krauskopf scored two extra point conversions on catch-and-run plays.

The offensive standouts were Ramos, Luna, Sauceda and Krauskopf.  Defensive standouts were Eric Flores, John van Burkleo, Riley Mills and Adrian Flores,” said Barron.

The team’s last game of the season will be Nov. 8 at La Vernia at 7 p.m. The eighth grade B team will be back in action that day against the Bears with a game at 6:15 p.m.
