Pleasanton’s eighth grade boys basketball teams played Brooks Academy on Dec. 10.
The A team won 76-42.
“The Eagles played exceptionally all night and kept pressure on the Bengals all game long,” said Pleasanton coach Stephen Barron.
R.J. Marquez scored 36 points. Jake Casias had 16 points. Lane Dowdy had 14 points. Austin Rich and Jayce Krauskopf both had four points. Ethan Montoya had two points.
“The defensive standouts were the entire team due to causing multiple turnovers and limiting the Bengals one shot opportunities,” Barron said.
The B team lost 37-35.
“The Eagles were able to drive the ball effectively and kept pressure on the Bengals all game,” said Barron.
Ricky Alcorta scored 13 points. Robert Smith scored eight points. Dillon Benavidez scored six points.
Thomas Casarez and Shayne Cazier both had four points.
“The defensive standouts were Abel Arguijo, Shayne Cazier, Riley Mills, Robert Smith and Ricky Alcorta,” Barron said.
The team’s next game will be Dec. 10 at home against La Vernia.
