The City of Pleasanton unanimously adopted its budget for the fiscal year that starts Oct. 1, 2012, and ends Sept. 30, 2013, at the Sept. 20 council meeting.
They also approved the ad valorem tax rate of $0.48977 per $100 valuation for the 2012-13 fiscal year (a 5.58 percent increase over the effective tax rate for the fiscal year 2012-13), providing for the use and support of the Municipal Government and providing for the Interest and Sinking Fund. There is not an increase in utility rates, at this time.
“This was the first budget I have put together for the City of Pleasanton,” said City Manager Bruce Pearson. “This would not have been possible without the help of each and every one of the department heads and the city secretary.”
It was important to Pearson that the department heads felt they were part of the budgeting process. He congratulated them for meticulously going through the budget and also thanked council for their direction and time.
Council also unanimously adopted the ordinance which amended the budget for the 2011-12 fiscal year.
