Pleasanton BPA advances to stateFree Access

Business Professionals of America (BPA), Pleasanton High School Chapter, had a great showing at Regional contest on Jan. 20 at Medina Valley High School. Thirteen students qualified for State competition in individual and team events.

Before awards were distributed, Delanee Olivarri was installed as the new Regional President for Area 2 Region 2.

As a Regional Officer, she will serve as part of the Texas Officer Team at the State Leadership Conference in Corpus Christi in March and at the National Leadership Conference in Dallas in May.

Qualifying in Individual Events were: •Madeleine Guajardo – 1st Place – Fundamentals of Desktop Publishing

•Kinsley Moore – 1st Place – Administrative Support Research Project

•Mackenzie Pilgrim – 1st Place – Presentation Management

•Alaina Dickson – 2nd Place – Database Applications

•Cassie Lotas – 2nd Place – Medical Office Procedures

•Trent Osborne – 2nd Place – Computer Security Qualifying in Team Events were:

•Matthew Elmer, Kinsley Moore, and Avery Falcon – 1st Place – Economic Research Team

•Lauren Dowdy, Paige Hubert, and Delanee Olivarri – 1st Place – Global Marketing Team

•Dylan Acuff, Shelby Henson, and Mackenzie Pilgrim – 1st Place – Small Business Management Team

State Alternates in their events were: •Randy Balderas – 3rd Place – Prepared Speech

•Avery Falcon – 6th Place – Human Resource Management

•Alarik Myrin – 6th Place – PC Servicing and Troubleshooting

•Ricky Ramos – 6th Place – Banking and Finance State competition will take place in Corpus Christi on Feb. 28- March 3.
