The JC Jammers Relay for Life Team will be holding a Texas Hold’em Tournament Friday, March 30.. The tournament will be held at the Quillian House located on the corner of Main Street and Bensdale Road near the River Park entrance in Pleasanton. Players may begin arriving at 7:00 and the tournament will begin at 7:30. Buy-ins are $30 with $30 buy backs and $30 add on available before the blinds go up for the 4th time. Iced tea, water and snacks will be available. Players may bring other beverages of their choice.

The JC Jammers Team was formed in honor of JC Evans, a twelve year old boy from Pleasanton. JC was diagnosed with leukemia when he was 8. He took chemotherapy for 3 1/2years and finished his treatment 1 year ago. Even before he was diagnosed with cancer, he was an active participant in Relay for Life. He has participated in every Atascosa County Relay for Life. In 2008, shortly after he was diagnosed, he was invited to appear on the WOAI television show San Antonio Living.

JC is now a very active 7th grader at Pleasanton Junior High School. He participated in football, soccer, track and is now playing Little League Baseball. His favorite class at school is his STEM Infinity class where he learns to build rockets and robots. He attends First United Methodist Church in Pleasanton and participates in youth activities.
