On Friday, Nov. 30, the Pleasanton ISD Education Foundation made their way through the PISD campuses surprising teachers who had been awarded with Teacher Grant funds of $14,000.

“The energy was electrifying as we walked through the hallways of the campuses. The drum line was playing, the cheerleaders were cheering, the students were dancing, I just loved being part of it, said Stephanie Brown of The Larry Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund. Over $5,000 was awarded in honor of Larry Brown that Friday.

“So many teachers use their own money to purchase items for their classrooms, so I was delighted to be part of their classroom projects. I think my dad, Mr. Brown, would have been very pleased, too.”

Funds were awarded as follows:

Elementary “Google Expedition” – $4,439

Junior High “Closet Makeover” – $2,500

Junior High “Lights! Camera! Action!” – $1,148

Junior High “Seeing Small Things” – $3,675

High School “Who I Am- Art Makes My World Go Round” – $ 1,595.84 (Larry Brown Memorial Teacher Grant)

“We are truly blessed as a district to have such a wonderful support system of parents and community volunteers,” said PISD Superintendent Matthew Mann.

“They dedicate countless hours to plan, prepare and to host fundraisers to solely support Pleasanton ISD students and staff. I am grateful for their work and I am so thankful for their commitment to making PISD great.”
