After a brief Executive Session during the beginning of the October 1 Pleasanton Council meeting, the council rescinded the appointment of Larry Pippen.
The motion, made by Eliseo Flores and seconded by Robert Earl Wood was unanimously approved by the council. The appointment for the District 6 seat will be addressed at the next council meeting, October 15.
Douglas Best, District 1 Councilman, was selected as Mayor Pro Tempore.
Crime Prevention for businesses
Also during the meeting, City Manager Bruce Pearson announced that a crime prevention meeting for businesses will be held on Thursday, Oct. 15 at the Pleasanton Civic Center from 11:30-1 p.m.
It is sponsored by Councilmembers Diana Prasifka and Douglas Best and will be moderated by Mayor Clint Powell and an educational training session will be presented by Chief Ronald Sanchez. Business owners are encouraged to sign up to attend so they may learn some ways to help prevent crime. A light lunch will be served.
Individual security assessments performed by our Criminal Investigation Division will be available for those businesses who sign up during the meeting.
