St. Ignatius Catholic Church Picnic

Head on over to Christine this Sunday, August 31 for the St. Ignatius Church Picnic. The day is full of events for everyone. There will be a brisket and sausage dinner with all the trimmings for $8 a plate. The dinner will be served in the air conditioned church pavilion. Team roping will be held. For more information on the roping events contact Ricky Guerra at 830-570- 9920. Check out all of the auction items at 12:30 p.m. If you are feeling lucky Bingo starts at 1 p.m. Also visit the concession stand, kids games and entertainment. The event will also host a team washers tournament and team horseshoe tournament. Don’t miss the free dance with music by Conjunto Selucion.

Free movie “Seventy Times Seven”

The Plestex Movie Theater will be hosting a free showing of “Seventy Times Seven.” The showing will be Sunday, August 31 at 6 p.m. The movie is sponsored by First Baptist Church Youth Ministry in Pleasanton. For more information contact the church office at 830-569-2582.

We Love Poteet

Show Poteet some love with Hosanna Baptist Church this weekend as they work to clean up Canyon Park in Poteet Friday, August 29 and then have a celebration Saturday August 30. The time has not been determined for the clean-up. Saturday the celebration is from 3-8 p.m. The event will include giving away school supplies, snow cones, face painting, a puppet show, food and music. Everything at the event is free. Make sure you stop by.

Cowboy Homecoming Queen

Voting for Cowboy Homecoming queen is fast approaching. Don’t miss the chance to cast your vote and help select the winner. Voting is September 5 and 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Pleasanton Chamber ofCommerce Log Cabin. Voter must be a resident of Pleasanton or attend the Pleasanton School District.
