PHS artists qualify for stateFree Access

These Pleasanton High School students competed on April 28 at the Visual Arts Scholastic State Event in San Marcos.

State qualifiers were Kate McNeil (not pictured, painting at bottom left), Haley Sorola, Angeline Navarro, Katelyn Rivera, Mathieu Cantona, Tatum Bosquez and Jacqueline Lugo.

Awarded State Medals were Katelyn for her panther batik, Kate for her acrylic painting of a cattle branding, Mathieu for his stippling of a lion, and Haley for her photograph of a fire hydrant with shadow.

Receiving scores of “Superior” were Jacqueline for her acrylic painting of a girl on a horse, Tatum for her sculpture of a coral reef, and Angeline for her batik of an octopus. Congratulations to all for your outstanding representation of Pleasanton High School.

We would like to thank the Pleasanton Women’s Club for sponsoring our students for contest this year. Pleasanton High School art students earned many, many Regional medals at competition and sent these 7 on to State Competition. Pride, Pride!
