Contractors have been in the area laying fiber optic lines and disturbing some residents’ lawns in the process. One resident who lives on Oakcrest, Guy James, called Pleasanton City Hall and found that proper permits were not applied for by the company. Thankfully only his yard suffered damage and not his sprinkler system. Where utility companies can gain access to certain areas, they still need a permit from the city. “They have no right to destroy private property or to be on your property without a permit,” stated James.
Homeowners and residents are encouraged to check the credentials of contractors who are accessing their property and to ensure they have permits.
