Patriot Day 5K in the Park raises $3K for JROTC

The Pleasanton ISD JROTC was presented with a $3,000 check from the Patriot Day 5K in the Park sponsors. Patriot Day 5K in the Park was held September 10, 2022, and hosted by the Pleasanton Express. Col. (Ret) Chris Wynder and CSM (Ret) Elvin Nuells, along with cadets of the JROTC were met by sponsors last week to accept the check.

“We want to thank all the sponsors for all the support you’ve provided us every single year in JROTC,” said Col. (Ret) Christopher Wynder. “The mission of JROTC is to motivate young people to be better citizens and we’re always looking for opportunities to get our cadets out in the community to show a positive presence. A financial contribution goes a long way to help us provide them with the support and resources they need to do what they love to do and that’s being involved with the community and participating in numerous events.”
