‘The Office Block Party’
The Office Bar and Grill is holding “The Office Block Party” on July 13!
This event will have an acoustic performance by Abbi Walker starting at 5 p.m., music from DJ Sosa starting at 7 p.m., and The Electric Cowboys will be performing at 9:30 p.m.
All ages are welcome, it is going to be a night full of family-fun!

Special guest at Summer Reading Program July 10!
As part of its weekly Summer Reading Program, the Pleasanton Library will welcome a special, surprise guest for children, on Wednesday, July 10, at the Pleasanton Civic Center.
The program will start at 10 a.m. with Pleasanton Mayor Travis Hall reading to children. Then, the surprise guest will follow.

Atascosa Running Club meets on Wednesdays
Runners are invited to take part in the Atascosa Running Club Social Fun Run every Wednesday. They meet at 7 p.m. and run at 7:10 p.m. and are scheduled to meet again on July 10.
They will meet at “The Office Bar and Grill,” run to the Pleasanton River Park, around town and back to The Office. They will be running three to four miles. No one is left behind. They will run at a slow pace. All ages and abilities are welcome to join!

Human/Sex Trafficking Seminar on July 11
The Pleasanton Police Department and the 81st Judicial District Attorney’s Office are collaborating to bring the public information regarding trafficking, on July 11.
This event is open to the public and will run from 6-8 p.m. at the Pleasanton Civic Center, 115 N. Main St. Refreshments will be provided.
District Attorney Audrey Louis will be on hand to answer questions and dispel any myths surrounding the human/sex trafficking underworld. The Pleasanton Police Department will be available to answer questions about this issue from a law enforcement standpoint.
NASCAR race car at Eagle Lube on July 12
Eagle Lube is hosting the Mobile 1 NASCAR race car for the public this Friday, July 12, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Come hear the rumble!
Join them for free food and drinks. Bring the family, take pictures and enjoy the festivities.
Eagle Lube is located at 415 N. Bryant St. in Pleasanton.
Ninfa Chapa Benefit
A fundraiser is set for Saturday, July 13 at the Pleasanton River Park Pavilion #3. Picadillo plates will be sold for $7 each and will include rice and beans. Serving begins at 11 a.m. and continues until sold out. There will also be a bake sale.
Funds will go towards medical expenses for Ninfa Chapa.
Pavilion #3 is located on the corner of Colwell and Hunt St. in Pleasanton.
Revival on July 14

Senior Days continue Mondays at Civic Center
Local senior citizens (50 or older) are invited to the weekly Senior Days at the Pleasanton Civic Center on Mondays. Events begin at 10 a.m. and are free. Come join the fun!
July 15- Card game with door prizes donated by Plestex Theatre. Guest speaker will be Chuck Garris, Pleasanton Fire Chief.
July 22- Clay activity. Guest speaker to be determined.
July 29- Painting the clay activity from the previous week. Guest speaker to be determined.
Touch-A-Truck & Ultimate Frisbee for kids
The City of Pleasanton is continuing their free, one day per week, eightweek summer program for kids. There are two more events set, with each one starting at 10 a.m.
Tuesday, July 16- Touch-A-Truck at Pleasanton Municipal Airport. Children are invited to come take a look, climb through and explore the emergency vehicles on display. Candy will be dropped via airplane at the conclusion of the event, by the Alamo Liaison Squadron Museum.
Tuesday, July 23- Ultimate Frisbee at River Park soccer field.

Pleasanton 2020 Census Community Meeting
The City of Pleasanton will hold its third 2020 Census Community Meeting on July 18, at 10 a.m., at the Pleasanton Civic Center.
Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce members, representatives of civic organizations, business community, nonprofit organizations, and faithbased organizations are all encouraged to attend.
The City of Pleasanton 2020 Census initiative is a direct partnership with the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce.
The city held its first Census Community Meeting in March as part of its year-long awareness campaign. The city is now seeking support from every segment of the community to ensure that all efforts are made to create awareness for a successful Census count.
The city’s CCC will meet every other month in person and hold conference calls in between to organize all Census promotion initiatives.

Pleasanton to host Business Ethics Workshop
The City of Pleasanton will hold a Business Ethics Workshop on July 18, at 11 a.m., at the Pleasanton Civic Center. July’s workshop will feature a presentation by the city’s Business and Economic Development Consultant and Owner and Founder of EMC Strategy Group, LLC.
Janice Gonzalez formerly served as the Business and Economic Development Director for the El Paso Chamber of Commerce and has years in experience as an owner/operator of a woman owned business. Janice has also worked in the public, private, and nonprofit sector for over 20 years.
This workshop is open to any business, nonprofit, and organization seeking ethics training. Workshop topics will include organizational rules, state and federal compliance, liability concerns, ethics in action, and accountability.

Yesteryear Festival at Longhorn Museum July 20
Step back in time on the grounds of the Longhorn Museum, for the 25th Annual Yesteryear Festival on Saturday, July 20.
The free event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is sponsored by the Longhorn Museum Society.
The annual festival features hands-on children’s activities and lost arts such as Indian clay art, branding boards, chuckwagon, storytelling, petting zoo, train depot, dancers, butter churning, handkerchief doll making and living museum exhibits. There will be activities both inside and outside the Longhorn Museum and free lemonade and cookies .
The museum is located at 1959 E. State Highway 97 in Pleasanton.
BCRW to meet July 25
The July meeting of the Brush Country Republican Women (BCRW) will be held on Thursday, July 25 at 7 p.m. at the Rotary building on the Strawberry Festival grounds in Poteet.
There will be a social time at 6:30 with light refreshments and the program will begin at 7 p.m. Jim Gibson from Floresville will give a presentation on the mission and operations of the Texas Border Volunteers (TBV) and what they see happening along the border. Lightning Fast Car Show
Due to rain, the 2nd Annual Lightning Fast Car Show originally scheduled for June has been rescheduled for Friday, July 26. Price Chevrolet and Lightning Fast Car Wash are hosting the event, from 6-8 p.m.
Join them for free food, drinks, DJ music, prizes, giveaways and more. Free entry for all vehicles. Come enjoy some classic and new rides with them!
