Townhall Meeting in Poteet April 18
School board and city candidates will be on hand at the Townhall Meeting on Thursday, April 18 at The Grange in Poteet. The event will be held from 7-8:30 p.m.
The Grange is located at the corner of Ave D and 6th Street, about two blocks from Poteet Elementary School.
Candidates will present their views and answer questions. This will be an opportunity for the public to find out about those who seek to represent them.
Cowboy Fellowship Easter Egg Hunt
Everyone is invited to an Easter Egg Hunt following the 8:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday, April 21, at Cowboy Fellowship.
Hunting will begin at 9:50 a.m. Children should bring their own Easter basket or egg container and be accompanied by a parent. There is no fee to attend the Easter Egg Hunt.
There will be thousands of eggs filled with candy and other prizes and lots of fun for kids up to 12 years of age. A special area for toddlers and young children will be available. Plan to attend this event and make it a new tradition with your family.
Free parenting class on April 27
On Saturday, April 27, from 12 noon to 4 p.m. Crosspoint Fellowship will hold a free parenting class. The church is located at 739 Dallas St. in Pleasanton.

Senior Days arts, crafts
The Pleasanton Express and City of Pleasanton Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor Senior Days on Monday, April 22.
Arts and crafts and painting will be the activities of the day, starting at 10 a.m. at the Pleasanton Civic Center.
PHS Taste of the Band
Support the Pleasanton High School Eagle Band, at Taste of the Band on Saturday, April 27. The dinner will take place from 5-7 p.m. at the PHS Cafeteria. Tickets are $7 each.
Each section will choose a theme and prepare food to go along with their theme. They will then decorate their booth to match their theme. Guests will vote as to the winner, who will receive the coveted Golden Spoon Award.

Poteet Aggie Senior Reunion on April 27
Join us on Saturday, April 27 for the 38th Annual Poteet Aggie Senior Reunion. It will begin at 10 a.m. at the Poteet High School Cafeteria, with lunch served around 11:45 a.m. for the annual reunion.
All who attended, taught, coached at Poteet ISD are welcome to attend.
Welcome to the Class of 1977, joining us as new members. Congratulations to the Class of 1969, celebrating 59 years!
Make checks payable to: Poteet Senior Athletic Association. Fees are $10 per person per meal, plus $10 annual dues per family. Scholarship monies after commitments are paid. Meal is $15 at the door.

Tai Chi at Senior Days
Senior Days at the Pleasanton Civic Center on Monday, April 29 will feature Tai Chi, the ancient Chinese wellness activity. Senior Days is made possible through the sponsorship of the Pleasanton Express and Parks and Recreation Department.
‘Sweet Memories’ Spring Dance
Jamie’s Special Ranch for Kids will host a free prom-style dance on Tuesday, April 30 from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. at the Pleasanton Civic Center.
The “Sweet Memories” Spring Dance is for those with special needs, ages 14-adult.
There are 336 people registered along with 95 staff. They currently have a waiting list for the dance.
If this is something you would like to be a part of, there are two ways you can help. One, is please consider sponsoring a table and second is volunteering at the dance.

Special Olympics Track meet on May 10
The Atascosa-McMullen Cooperative is proud to announce the Special Olympics Track meet will be held Friday, May 10, at Jourdanton Indian football stadium. There will be 12 schools attending, whose athletes will compete in running and field events.

CASA Listening Concert
On Saturday, May 11, join Joe Wayne Vickers and friends at the CASA Listening Concert, from 7-9:30 p.m. The event will take place at ACT Theater in Pleasanton.
The theater is located on Highway 97 West (Between Primo’s and All Saints Episcopal Church) in Pleasanton.
It will be an evening of acoustic-style music featuring local talent in a concert setting, without the noise and distractions of a bar, club, or restaurant.
Admission will be $10 at the door. Proceeds to benefit CASA of South Texas. Refreshments available by donation.
The performers are all Atascosa County natives and residents who are volunteering their time and talent to benefit CASA. Scheduled to perform are Sandy Locke, Joe Wayne Vickers, Ross Hurley, and “What About Bob” (Bob Kinsel and Jon Brauchle).
This will mark the third year for the event. So come on out and support local live music and CASA of South Texas!
SHARE! seeks host families
Make next school year the most enriching for your family, ever.
SHARE! is looking for volunteer host families to host international exchange students for the upcoming school year.
All students are between the ages of 15 and 18 and are from countries like Germany, China, Brazil, Belgium, Italy, Czech Republic, Japan, South Korea, and Spain. Families can review student applications and choose the boy or girl that best matches their family.
Host families provide a bed, three meals a day as well as a loving environment, friendship and a desire to share American culture. SHARE! students all speak English, come fully medically insured and with their own spending money for personal expenses.
