Pleasanton High School Homecoming Pep Rally

Show your Eagle spirit!

The Pleasanton High School Cheerleaders invite the community to come together and support our Eagles, at the Homecoming Pep Rally on Wednesday, Sept. 26. The special event will take place at Eagle Stadium at 7 p.m.

The Pleasanton High School Homecoming football game is Friday, Sept. 28 at 7:30 p.m.

*Please note that this year, the coronation will be at halftime, like it used to be many years ago. The walk across the field to recognize Ex-Students will also be held at half-time.

Pleasanton High School Class of 1958 reunion

The Pleasanton High School Class of 1958 will hold their reunion at the Plaza Tapatio Mexican Grill on Friday, Sept. 28. The restaurant is located at 1921 W. Oaklawn in Pleasanton (Highway 97, between the Executive Inn and Super 8).

Classmates are invited to start meeting at approximately 3:30 p.m. and they plan on eating at approximately 4:30 or 5 p.m. We will order from the menu- dinner is on your own.

Larry Brown Memorial Scholarship Raffle and Concert on Sept. 28

Be sure to buy raffle tickets during the next Eagle football homecoming game. Tickets are $10 each and the prize is a 2008 Ford F150 King Ranch pickup truck. Proceeds will benefit the Larry Brown Memorial Scholarship fund and the PISD Education Foundation Teachers’ Grant fund.

The winner will be announced at the FREE concert on Friday, Sept. 28 after the football homecoming game, which will now be located at the Pleasanton Riverpark. PHS alumni John Mayse, JC Martinez, Richard Garcia, Barry Milam and Randy Reed and their band 86d will perform.

Brown was the PHS Principal from 1977-1994.

Material Collection Day

The free Household Hazardous Material Collection Day is set for Saturday, Sept. 29, from 8 a.m. to noon. This is open to all residents of the City of Pleasanton and will take place at 315 Colwell (Pleasanton River Park, Pavilion #3, corner of Hunt and Colwell).

First Baptist Church Beth Moore Simulcast

First Baptist Church Pleasanton is going to be sponsoring a free Beth Moore Simulcast, on Saturday, October 6, from 9 a.m. until 4:15 p.m. with a hour break for lunch. There will be free babysitting provided for up to the age of 5-years-old.

Paisano VFD meeting

The Paisano Volunteer Fire Department of Campbellton will hold an important community meeting to discuss the future of the fire department.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Campbellton Community Hall. The meeting will address the lack of volunteers, which could possibly lead to the closure of the department. Everyone is urged to attend.

Foster Care, Adoption Information Meeting

If you are interested in becoming a foster parent or adopting a child in foster care, you are invited to the Foster Care and Adoption Information Meeting.

The event is set for Monday, Nov. 6 at Trinity Baptist Church in Pleasanton at 6:30 p.m. For details please contact CPS Foster/Adopt Specialist David Pate at 210-508-0986.

Call for vendors for the Christmas Craft Show Saturday, Nov. 10 will be the Atascosa County Child Welfare Board Christmas Craft Show, at the Cowboy Fellowship in Jourdanton.

The event is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Admission will be free at this event. Stop by and buy some Christmas gifts for your family. It will be the perfect time for a holiday shopping spree for a good cause! Proceeds go towards
local children in care of the Texas Department of Child Protective Services.
