Meet the Teacher at Pleasanton ISD

All current students that completed the 2017-2018 school year at Pleasanton ISD are already enrolled in the assigned grade at the appropriate campus for the 2018-2019 school year and only need to fill out registration paperwork online.

High School

August 6-24: New Student Registration will need to call 830-569- 1250.

August 23: Meet the Teacher Night, 5:30-7 p.m.

Junior High

August 23: Meet the Teacher Night, 4:30-6 p.m.


August 22: Meet the Teacher Night, 5-6:30 p.m.

Free Summer Program: Touch-a-Truck at Airport

Join the City of Pleasanton Parks and Recreation Department for their next weekly, free Summer Program for youth.

The City of Pleasanton will sponsor the Touch-A-Truck event on Thursday, Aug. 23 at the Pleasanton Municipal Airport at 10 a.m.

Back to School Bash on Main Street

The Barbershop, 217 1/2 N. Main St. in Pleasanton, has gotten together with the Pleasanton Police Department for the Back to School Bash on Main Street on Aug. 25. The event is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Barbershop will give away free basic haircuts to the first 60 students, kinder to 12th grade. Join them for music and free snacks.

They also have a donation box at H-E-B for those who want to donate school supplies. The supplies will be handed out to students on Aug. 25 while supplies last.

Breastfeeding Carniva l

Please join your local WIC clinic inside the Atascosa Health Center in celebration of National Breastfeeding Month on Friday, Aug. 31, at their annual Breastfeeding Carnival. They are located at 310 W Oaklawn Rd.

The Carnival will be from 9 a.m.-12 p.m., and is open to the entire community. It will teach expectant women, moms, family members and the community the importance of breastfeeding, as well as provide information on how to better support breastfeeding.

Poteet High School ESL classes for adults

ESL classes for adults will be held at Poteet High School on Sept. 4 and Sept. 6, starting at 6 p.m.

It is asked that you please arrive on time. You must attend both days.

Register for Awana Clubs at First Baptist

Pleasanton’s First Baptist Church welcomes all children, kindergarten through the fifth grade, to come join Awana Clubs. On Wednesday, Sept. 5 there will be a block party and registration night with free hot dogs, bounce houses, snow cones and pop corn from 5:30 – 7 p.m. in the church courtyard at 400 Reed Street in Pleasanton. Parents, and all family members, are welcome to come register your child or children.

Awana clubs begins the following Wednesday, Sept. 12 and consists of three 30-minute parts including music and Bible story, scripture memory and lesson, and games.

There is no fee for participating, but there is an at cost charge for the study books and the club’s T-shirts and vests. You can also register on line at fbcpleasanton.org. For details or to volunteer contact John Coleman at First Baptist Church at 569-2582.

Pleasanton NA meeting

The Pleasanton NA group meets each Tuesday and Thursday at 7 p.m. at 914 Ohio St. in Pleasanton. For details contact David J. at 830-399-5010.

Jourdanton AA meets

The Jourdanton Alcoholics Anonymous group meets each Monday at 7:30 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, classroom #1. It is located at 1608 Campbell Ave. in Jourdanton. Call 210-387- 1866 for further information.
