AFCC in search of Christmas trees

The Atascosa Family Crisis Center is still in need of some Christmas trees. These trees will be given to clients and their children to have for Christmas. They can be any size and artificial is good. If they are pre-lit, that is even better but any kind will do.

Help the AFCC make this Christmas a good one for those in need. If you are interested in donating a tree please contact Shawnene at 830-281-2001.

Threads of Warmth

Poteet First United Methodist Church is also collecting new blankets for its “Threads of Warmth” program. They are also collecting food for CAM, as well as new and second chance coats and jackets, and new underwear and socks for elementary children.

If anyone has a coat that one’s child has outgrown, or if someone would like to donate a new one, or donate a new blanket, please call  the Poteet UMC Wesley Nurse Wendy Hilburn at 830-742-8780,  Pastor Dave Collett at 830- 742-3230, or Patti Franklin West at 830-742-8069.

Poteet Blue Santa

The parade will start at 6 p.m. and will end at Poteet Canyon Park at approximately 7 p.m. where you can meet Blue Santa as he gives out gifts to the children (ages 1-12) of the Poteet community.
