Atascosa County Small Business Networking event

Calling on small business owners, self-employed individuals and entrepreneurs. You are encouraged to attend the Atascosa County Small Business Networking Meet and Greet Event on Wednesday, July 1. Meet with others from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Atascosa River Park, Pavilion #1.

Much has happened since the group first met back in February. Here is an opportunity to network and share business information such as:

•What has transpired with your business since then?

•What changes have you made to adhere to the state mandates and compliance rules, while keeping everything afloat?

•What are your plans for the next three monthsyear? •How can we spread the word about your business and any product or service you would like to highlight?

Poteet PD Coloring Contest continues

The Poteet Police Depart- ment is holding a coloring contest for children ages 2-11 in the community now through June 26. Prizes will be awarded to a boy and girl in each of the three age groups as follows:

• 12” bike (ages 2-3), 16” bike (ages 4-6), 20” bike (ages 7-11). Judging will take place June 29-30 and the winners will be announced on Wednesday, July 1.

Parents can take their children by the police station located at 182 5th Street in Poteet to pick up coloring sheets. Be sure to keep your eye out on the Poteet Police Department Facebook page for further information on the contest.

Safer Path fundraiser

Support Safer Path Family Violence Shelter at their VIRTUAL Stella & Dot Party with stylist, Amy Shearrer, now until June 29. Stella & Dot offers versatile and stylish jewelry, bags, clothing and more. All of the proceeds made on this virtual event will be donated directly to Safer Path.

Wehman Golf Tourney rescheduled for June 28

The Pleasanton Rotary Club extends an invitation to the public to participate in the 8th Annual Bubba Wehman Memorial Golf Tournament. The event supports the Pleasanton

Rotary Club scholarship program.

The 4-person “Florida scramble” tournament will tee off at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, at the Pleasanton Country Club. An awards dinner will follow, catered by Lew’s Patio & Grill. Call the Pro Shop at 830-281-3486 or Mike at 210-748-4351 to sign up.

“Seven Ways to Get Back to the New Normal”

Learn how to help navigate your business during COVID-19, at the City of Pleasanton Business Webinar on Tuesday, June 30. The session, “Seven Ways to Get Back to the New Normal,” will begin at 10 a.m.

“Sweet Land of Liberty” hosted by George Farms

Bring the whole family out to George Farms, 10 a.m.- 4 p.m., on Sat., July 4, 595 Mobile Home Alley, Poteet for their “Sweet Land of Liberty” pick your own watermelons event.

The celebration includes an open air Farmer’s Market, fishing, brisket plates, games and face painting. Free concert by local Texas artist Matt Hawk, 2-4 p.m. $5 entry for watermelon eating contest, 1 p.m with signup at noon. Free parking/ no entry fee. Charlotte reading program to begin

The Charlotte Public Library beganhost its Summer Reading Program, starting Monday, June 22. It will be a virtual reading program through July 10. Pick up your free coloring bag, plus a new craft or activity to do each Monday.

On July 2, from 10:30- 11:15 a.m. Spikey Mikey will be at the Charlotte Baptist Church in the Fellowship Hall.

Social distancing and masks are mandatory for ages 5 and older. Admission fee is one non-perishable item for the food bank. Call 830-277-1212 for more information.

River City Produce is bringing #Market2You to your community.

The City of Charlotte Neighborhood Produce Market is set for July 1, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Charlotte Public Library.
