Public Mass begins at St. Luke Catholic Church

The public is cordially invited to join others for the celebration of mass at St. Luke Catholic Church on Saturdays at 6 p.m. and Sundays at 10:30 a.m.

At this time, they have a capacity for up to 150 people. Face masks and social distancing are required. All safety precautions are being taken. The church is located at 3930 FM 536, exit 117 off IH 37, 8 miles north of Pleasanton.

Charlotte Senior Parade on May 29

Just a reminder that the City of Charlotte and 2020 senior parents invite everyone to come out and celebrate the accomplishments of the Charlotte High School Class of 2020 in a Senior Parade on Friday, May 29, at 7 p.m.

Seniors will line up on Wilson Ave. next to the Charlotte Volunteer Fire Station and follow a fire truck through town.

Friends and family are encouraged to show their spirit with banners and posters all while being mindful of COVID-19 recommendations by the CDC and Gov. Greg Abbott: groups of less than five people and practicing social distancing of at least six feet apart.

Pleasanton ISD Summer Feeding Program Begins June 1

Pleasanton ISD will begin their Summer Feeding Service Program this Monday, June 1, through Tuesday, June 30. These meals will be free to all kids under the age of 18. Meals will be served at the Pleasanton Junior High from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and at six other remote sites.

The first bus will be at the Ata-Bexar Fire Station from 10:30 a.m. – 11:20 a.m. and Our Lady of Guadalupe Church Leming from 11:40 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. The second bus will be at St. Andrew’s Church from 10:30 a.m. – 11:20 a.m. and Cactus Ropes (across the street) from 11:40 a.m. – 12:30 a.m. The school van will be at the Pleasanton River Park from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and the Pleasanton Pool (when open) from 12:40 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Yard Sale to benefit ‘Peace for the Pieces’

Help raise funds for a good cause, at the huge yard sale on Saturday, June 6. The event will take place at Pleasanton Athletic Center (PAC) at 1202 W. Oaklawn Rd. from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Funds raised will go towards “Peace for the Pieces,” a local group designed for special needs children and teens and their immediate families.

Pleasanton Library open

The Pleasanton Library staff is pleased to see all the smiling faces back at the library. The library is open to the public, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday.

The public computers will not be available for use to the public until further notice. The study rooms will also not be available for use.

Patrons are still able to check out books, make copies and send faxes. Social distancing will also be enforced.

So stop on by and grab a good book for the week.

Poteet Library update

The Poteet Public Library is currently offering only curbside service for book check-in and checkout. It is located at 126 S. Fifth St. in Poteet. The library remains closed to the public until further notice.

Charlotte Library open

The Charlotte Public Library, located at 77 Yule Ave. in Charlotte, is open for computer use and curbside services only at this time. Please give Librarian Marianne McGinnis a call at 830-277-1212 to check out your books and she will leave them in a safe place for you to pick them up.

You must call ahead to schedule computer use for a 45-minute period. Only one adult and/or two children are allowed to use the computers at a time. Children ages 5 and older are allowed to use the AWE computers at this time.

All patrons must:

•Wear masks in library

•Use sanitizer before and after computer use

•Practice social distancing of six feet

•Children must stay with parents during their visit.
