Out and About

Baseball, softball

Lots of baseball games and tournaments happening right now. Surely you can find a game to attend and a favorite team to support this spring. I know our Sports Editor Eric Smith is busy covering as much as he can. David Wickersham and Joe David Cordova are out there, too!

Lions did it up right

Of all the Lions Club Wild Game dinners I’ve attended, I don’t think any have been as successful and fun as the one last Saturday night. The food, the conversation, the auction items (and generous sponsors and bidders) and dancing to the music by Jarrett Akers all helped to make this a memorable event.

Last reminder…Red Priest and Pirates of the Baroque

Wayne Beyer, local CPA and auditor for various institutions, has helped to bring Red Priest to Pleasanton via the San Antonio Chamber Music Society. The entertaining group will be performing in San Antonio on Sunday, March 4 but will also be at the Douglas R. Williamson Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, March 6 at 2:30 p.m. A reception will follow at the City of Pleasanton Council Chambers.

Army Field Band Jazz Ambassadors

If you have ever heard the talented musicians of the U.S. Army Field Band Jazz Ambassadors, you are in luck. If you haven’t you’re in for a great treat. They will be performing on Tuesday, March 13 at the Douglas R. Williamson Performing Art Center. The concert is free, but each person must have a ticket for admittance. Tickets are available for distribution at the Pleasanton Express. Please call us here to reserve your tickets.
