In June of 2020 Officers of the Pleasanton Police Departments Narcotics Enforcement Team and the 81st District Attorney’s Office began an 8 month operation dubbed “Operation Crystal Cowboy” that was focused on the street level trafficking of Methamphetamine and Heroin into the City of Pleasanton. This month an Atascosa County Grand Jury indicted a total of 26 individuals on over 30 separate charges involving the distribution of approximately 204 grams of Methamphetamine and 11 grams Heroin in and around the Atascosa County Area.
In the early morning hours of February 26, Officers of the Pleasanton Police Department and the 81stDistrict Attorney’s Office who were assisted by the Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Unit, and Homeland Security Investigations began executing arrest warrants.
As of 2:00 Pm a total of 21 suspects have been arrested and booked into the Atascosa County Jail. During today’s arrest roundup multiple suspects were found to be in possession of Methamphetamine and Heroin, and four cases of endangering a child were filed. More arrests are expected and investigations will continue.
